We are pleased to invite you to the 21<\/strong>st<\/strong> International Conference on Economic <\/strong>Convergence in European Union, <\/strong>\u201cSustainable development: trend or <\/em><\/strong>necessity?” which will <\/em><\/strong>take place on 22<\/strong>nd<\/strong> of May 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organized by The Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics<\/strong>, the ECEU<\/em><\/strong>conference<\/em><\/strong> is a multidisciplinary forum that promotes interaction and knowledge exchange\u00a0<\/em>among scholars from diverse research fields<\/em>\u00a0<\/b><\/em>This year the main topic of the conference revolves around potential economic, social, or technological\u00a0<\/span>shifts caused by sustainable development, that is of paramount importance in today’s world, as it\u00a0<\/span>addresses critical challenges facing humanity and the planet. Sustainable development is about meeting.\u00a0<\/span>the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

With pressing issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and resource depletion, there’s\u00a0an urgent need for innovative solutions, therefore research plays a vital role in identifying, developing,\u00a0<\/span>and implementing these solutions. Also, research in this field provides evidence-based insights that\u00a0<\/span>inform policy formulation and decision-making processes at local, national, and global levels. By\u00a0<\/span>generating robust data, analyses, and recommendations, research helps policymakers develop effective s<\/span>trategies and regulations to promote sustainability across various sectors. In this context, the main goal\u00a0<\/span>of the 21st International Conference on Economic Convergence in the European Union is to provide a\u00a0<\/span>platform for research and discussions on topics that are centered on the potential paradigm shifts caused\u00a0<\/span>by the transition towards sustainable development, that is not just a trend; it’s a necessity for addressing\u00a0<\/span>the complex challenges of our time and building a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable future for\u00a0<\/span>all.<\/span><\/p>\n

By investing in research, we can unlock innovative solutions, inform effective policies, empower\u00a0<\/span>communities, and ensure the well-being of current and future generations.<\/span>Participants will submit the abstract via email to <\/strong>simpozioneconomie@economie.ase.ro\u00a0<\/strong>no later than <\/strong>1<\/strong>st<\/strong> of April 2024<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Full papers as well as short papers (abstracts or drafts of research in progress you would like\u00a0to share) are accepted<\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong>Submitted papers will be peer reviewed in terms of novelty, originality, relevance, scientific\u00a0<\/span>soundness, methodological design, results, and contribution. It is <\/span>ECEU <\/strong>policy to make efforts\u00a0<\/span>to send complete papers to two reviewers for full blind peer review. Submitted papers must\u00a0<\/span>not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Selected papers will be published in a<\/strong> Special issue of Theoretical and Applied Economics\u00a0<\/strong>Journal, indexed in EconLit, RePec, DOAJ, EBSCO and ICAAP.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fees:<\/strong> There is a participation fee of 50 Euro (250 lei) per paper<\/em><\/strong>, which also covers the\u00a0publishing fees.<\/span><\/p>\n
