The security of your data matters most to us, which is why we take every aspect of your data protection seriously.

As of 25 May 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), known as the GDPR, has applied. This means that every controller or entity processing personal data must apply these new requirements and provide transparent information about how the data are processed.

To comply with the GDPR, and because we care about the personal data we hold, we inform you that these data are used only for the processes involved in our relationship with you.

To improve your online browsing experience, we use cookies that make the website easier to use https://economie.ase.ro for visitors. The full list of third-party cookies can be found below.

  1. WHAT IS A “COOKIE”?

An “Internet cookie” (also known as a “browser cookie”, an “HTTP cookie” or simply a “cookie”) is a small file made up of letters and numbers that is stored on the computer, mobile device or other equipment a user accesses the Internet from. The cookie is installed at the request of a web server to a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) and is entirely “passive” (it contains no software, viruses or spyware and cannot access information on the user's hard drive).

A cookie consists of two parts: its name and its content or value. In addition, a cookie has a set lifetime; technically, only the server that sent the cookie can access it again when a user returns to the website associated with that web server.

Cookies play an important role in facilitating access to and delivery of the many services users enjoy on the Internet, such as:

  • Personalising certain settings, such as the language a website is displayed in, the currency in which certain prices or fees are shown, and keeping your choices for various products (quantity, other details, etc.).
  • Cookies give website owners valuable feedback on how users use their websites, so that they can make them more efficient and more accessible to users.
  • They allow multimedia or other applications from other websites to be included in a given website, creating a more valuable, useful and enjoyable browsing experience.

Cookies themselves do not require personal information in order to be used and, in most cases, do not personally identify Internet users.

There are two main categories of cookies:

  • Session cookies– these are stored temporarily in the web browser's cookie folder so that it remembers them until the user leaves the website or closes the browser window (e.g. when logging in or out of a webmail account or social network).
  • Persistent cookies– these remain on the device for a set period. This category also includes third-party cookies placed by other websites, which may anonymously remember a visitor's interests.
  1. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF COOKIES?

Cookies are managed by web servers. How long a cookie lasts can vary a lot, depending on its purpose. Some cookies are kept for one visit only and disappear once the user leaves the site, while others are kept and reused every time the user comes back. Users can delete cookies at any time from their browser settings.

In general, cookies make interaction between users and websites quick and easy. They also let users easily pick up where they left off when they return to a website they visited before. In practice, cookies tell the server which pages to show, so the user does not have to remember the pages they browsed or start again from the home page.

  1. WHY DO WE USE COOKIES?
  1. HOW ARE COOKIES USED ON THIS WEBSITE?

Session cookies

Session cookies are stored on the user's device during the browsing session. They store an anonymous session identifier, allowing the user to visit a website without having to enter identification details (username, password, etc.) on every page.

Such cookies are frequently used in online shops and elsewhere. For example, when the user visits a page and selects certain products, the cookie remembers the selected products and adds them to the shopping basket, which will contain all the selected products when the user wishes to leave the page.

Session cookies are stored in the device's memory only for the duration of an Internet browsing session and are deleted when the browser is closed. They may also become inaccessible if the session has been inactive for a certain period of time.

  1. WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION IS STORED AND ACCESSED THROUGH COOKIES?

Cookies keep information in a small text file that allows a website to recognise a browser. The web server will recognise the browser until the cookie expires or is deleted. The cookie stores important information that improves the Internet browsing experience (for example: the user session ID, the referral page, the current time, etc.).

  1. WHY ARE COOKIES IMPORTANT FOR THE INTERNET?

Cookies are central to the efficient functioning of the Internet, helping to create a friendly browsing experience tailored to each user's preferences and interests. Refusing or disabling cookies may make some websites impossible to use. Refusing or disabling cookies does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising – only that it will no longer be able to take into account your preferences and interests as shown by your browsing behaviour.

Examples of important uses of cookies (which do not require a user to log in through an account):

  • Content and services tailored to the user's preferences.
  • Offers tailored to users' interests – language preferences (for example, showing search results in Romanian).
  • Delivering advertising that is more relevant to the user.
  • Measurement, optimisation and analytics features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic to a website, what type of content is viewed and how a user reaches a website (for example, through search engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). Websites carry out these analyses of their use to improve the sites for the benefit of users.
  1. SECURITY AND PRIVACY CONCERNS

Cookies are NOT viruses! They use plain-text formats. They are not made up of pieces of code, so they cannot be executed and cannot run on their own. Consequently, they cannot duplicate or replicate themselves on other networks in order to run or replicate again. Because they cannot perform these functions, they cannot be considered viruses. Cookies can nevertheless be used for negative purposes. Many anti-spyware products are aware of this and routinely flag cookies for deletion during anti-virus/anti-spyware scanning and removal procedures.

In general, browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, validity periods and automatic deletion after the user has visited a given website.

See the privacy policy.

Retention of personal data

The personal data stored will be used for the performance of contracts and the processing of your requests. Once the contract or your request has been completed, the data are kept in line with the retention periods set by tax and commercial legislation and, where applicable, for as long as necessary to protect the Controller's rights.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our websites and web applications. For example, we collect details such as the source of the visit and the total number of visitors to our website and applications. This lets us assess the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and user activity on our websites and applications.

You can find more details about the Google Analytics privacy policy here: https://support.google.com

  1. HOW CAN I STOP COOKIES?

Disabling and refusing cookies may make some websites impractical or difficult to visit and use. Refusing cookies also does not mean you will no longer receive or see online advertising.

You can set your browser to stop accepting these cookies, or you can set it to accept cookies from a specific website.

Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that lets users avoid being tracked while browsing. Blocking cookies or using “Do Not Track” may block certain features on our websites.

All modern browsers let you change cookie settings. These settings are usually found in the browser's “options” or “preferences” menu.

To understand these settings, the following links may be useful; otherwise you can use your browser's “help” option for more details.
